Jumeirah Vittaveli brings a new first to the Maldives with the destination’s first ice rink. Guests can glide across the world’s most tropical glistening eco-friendly ice rink. With a complete size of 170 square metres, guests can watch from the viewing seats or practice their skating routines and play ice hockey on the 87 square metres of ice skating area. True to Jumeirah Vittaveli’s core beliefs to improve our sustainability wherever possible, the ice rink has been built in partnership with Glice®, a company that manufactures artificial ice plates. Contrary to a conventional ice skating rink, a complex molecular technology makes Glice® synthetic ice rinks function entirely without water and at a zero-energy level.
